- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport goods to designated locations.
- Adhere to all traffic and safety laws, rules, and regulations while operating the CMV.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the CMV.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, hours of service, and delivery logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Handle and secure cargo in a safe and responsible manner.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on the CMV, such as checking and refilling fluids, changing tires, and replacing light bulbs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being friendly, professional, and helpful to clients and their representatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized CMV, both inside and out.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Attend and participate in mandatory training sessions and safety meetings.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and compliance.
- Represent Ryder in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on the job.
- Continuously monitor and comply with all transportation and safety regulations.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
