- Perform maintenance and repair services on a variety of diesel engines and vehicles
- Utilize expertise and knowledge to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines and vehicles
- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and vehicles
- Complete repairs and replacements of parts as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on diesel engines and vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to provide updates on repairs and maintenance services
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and development opportunities
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring timely and efficient completion of all tasks
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Education And Training: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For This Role, Along With Vocational Training Or An Associate's Degree In Diesel Technology Or A Related Field.
Ase Certification: Candidates Should Have Current Ase (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification In Diesel Engines, Electrical Systems, Brakes, And Preventive Maintenance.
Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Diesel Technician Is Preferred. Experience With Various Makes And Models Of Heavy-Duty Trucks And Equipment Is Also Desirable.
Knowledge Of Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency In Using Diagnostic Tools And Software Such As Computerized Diagnostic Equipment, Electronic Service Tools, And Scan Tools Is Necessary To Troubleshoot And Repair Complex Engine And Vehicle Systems.
Physical Requirements: The Job Of A Diesel Technician Mechanic Is Physically Demanding, And Candidates Should Possess The Ability To Lift Up To 50 Pounds, Work In Tight Spaces, And Stand For Long Periods. A Valid Driver's License With A Clean Driving Record Is Also Required.
