- Safely operate a Class B commercial vehicle to transport goods to our customers on a daily basis.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations while driving.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Inspect and maintain the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to delivery, customer service, and safety.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and superiors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Keep accurate records of all deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that may occur.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
- Continuously monitor and report any issues or concerns related to vehicle maintenance, safety, or customer service.
- Maintain a positive and professional image of the company at all times.
- Attend training and development programs as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and sharing feedback.
- Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations, including DOT regulations, while performing job duties.
- Other duties as assigned or required by the company.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Class B Cdl Is Required To Operate A Commercial Vehicle With A Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (Gvwr) Of 26,001 Pounds Or More. This Includes Vehicles Such As Straight Trucks, Dump Trucks, And Small Buses.
Clean Driving Record: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Traffic Violations Or Accidents. A History Of Safe Driving Is Essential For This Role, As The Driver Will Be Responsible For Transporting Goods And Materials On A Daily Basis.
At Least 1 Year Of Commercial Driving Experience: Ryder System Looks For Candidates With At Least 1 Year Of Experience Driving A Commercial Vehicle. This Ensures That The Driver Is Familiar With The Rules And Regulations Of The Road And Is Comfortable Handling A Large Vehicle.
Ability To Pass A Background Check And Drug Test: As With Any Job In The Transportation Industry, Safety Is A Top Priority For Ryder System. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Able To Pass A Thorough Background Check And Drug Test Before Being Hired.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: Home Daily Truck Drivers At Ryder System Will Be Interacting With Customers And Clients On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role. The Driver Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Clients, Follow Delivery Instructions, And Handle Any Issues That May Arise During Their Route.
