- Negotiate and draft complex procurement contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with procurement contracts.
- Provide strategic guidance to support procurement operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and business stakeholders, to develop and implement contract strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to procurement contracts.
- Advise on legal implications of proposed business decisions and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support contract negotiations and decision-making.
- Review and analyze existing contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate effective contract negotiations and execution.
- Draft and maintain standard contract templates, policies, and procedures for the procurement team.
- Train and educate internal stakeholders on legal and contractual issues related to procurement.
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of contract negotiations and ensure timely execution.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to procurement contracts, as needed.
- Keep accurate and organized records of all contracts and related legal documents.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the procurement contract process to increase efficiency and reduce legal risk for the company.
Extensive Experience In Procurement And Contract Negotiation: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Negotiating Complex Contracts And Managing Procurement Processes.
Strong Legal Background: A Senior Counsel At Relx Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Contract Law And Be Able To Provide Sound Legal Advice To The Procurement Team.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Interaction With Internal Stakeholders And External Vendors, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential.
