In this role, you will play a critical role in negotiating and drafting complex contracts, mitigating legal risks, and providing strategic guidance to support our procurement operations.   1. Negotiate and draft complex procurement contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties.
  2. Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with procurement contracts.
  3. Provide strategic guidance to support procurement operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and business stakeholders, to develop and implement contract strategies.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to procurement contracts.
  6. Advise on legal implications of proposed business decisions and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  7. Conduct legal research and analysis to support contract negotiations and decision-making.
  8. Review and analyze existing contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate effective contract negotiations and execution.
  10. Draft and maintain standard contract templates, policies, and procedures for the procurement team.
  11. Train and educate internal stakeholders on legal and contractual issues related to procurement.
  12. Manage and prioritize a high volume of contract negotiations and ensure timely execution.
  13. Represent the company in legal proceedings related to procurement contracts, as needed.
  14. Keep accurate and organized records of all contracts and related legal documents.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the procurement contract process to increase efficiency and reduce legal risk for the company.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Procurement And Contract Negotiation: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Negotiating Complex Contracts And Managing Procurement Processes.

  • Strong Legal Background: A Senior Counsel At Relx Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Contract Law And Be Able To Provide Sound Legal Advice To The Procurement Team.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Interaction With Internal Stakeholders And External Vendors, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Regulations And Best Practices: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Laws And Regulations Governing Procurement And Contracting, As Well As Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices.

  • Leadership And Management Experience: The Senior Counsel Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Legal Professionals, So Prior Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role Is Highly Desirable.
