
Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer
You will perform complex analyses applying Linear Elastic (LEFM) and Elastic-Plastic Fracture Mechanics (EPFM) to evaluate damage-tolerant designs produced with Relativity’s Additive Manufacturing Technology, assessing whether a given flaw is safe from brittle fracture, fatigue, or plastic collapse under service loading conditions. Develop and evaluate fracture control methods for assurance of structural integrity of 3D printed rocket structures. Support laboratory testing and failure analysis. Serve as an expert for fracture and fatigue. Develop concepts to improve fatigue life.
5+ years performing Classical Stress Analysis techniques using hand calculations and Finite Element Methods
Excellent background and knowledge of Fitness-For-Service (API 579), NASGRO or AFGROW
Extensive knowledge of material testing coupons, testing standards, and data analysis
