Job Description

The Reinsurance Group of America is looking for an experienced Senior Underwriter, Commercial Real Estate to join our team. We are seeking a candidate with a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a confident negotiator and comfortable making decisions under pressure.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of three years of experience in underwriting, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a thorough understanding of commercial real estate. You must also be an excellent communicator and adept at developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  1. Underwrite commercial real estate transactions, ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
  2. Negotiate terms and conditions of transactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Analyze and review financial documents to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.
  4. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth underwriting process.
  5. Ensure all underwriting documents are up to date and properly filed.
  6. Monitor the performance of underwritten transactions, making recommendations as necessary.
  7. Keep up-to-date with changes in the real estate market and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
  8. Maintain a thorough understanding of the underwriting process and policies.
  9. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters.
  10. Assist with the development of underwriting procedures and best practices.
