Job Description

As an intern in our Actuarial department, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the reinsurance industry and the business administration side of our operations. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Reinsurance Group of America.   1. Assist with data analysis and reporting: As an intern in our Actuarial department, you will be responsible for assisting with data analysis and reporting. This may include gathering and organizing data, performing data analysis using Excel or other software, and creating reports to present to the team.
  2. Support actuarial functions: You will be responsible for supporting the actuarial functions of the department. This may involve helping with actuarial calculations, reviewing and updating actuarial models, and assisting with the development of actuarial reports.
  3. Conduct research: You will be responsible for conducting research on industry trends, market conditions, and other relevant information related to the reinsurance industry. This research will help inform our decisions and strategies as a company.
  4. Attend meetings and training sessions: As part of your internship, you will have the opportunity to attend meetings and training sessions to learn more about the reinsurance industry and our company. You will be responsible for actively participating in these sessions and asking questions to enhance your understanding.
  5. Collaborate with team members: You will be working closely with our team of actuaries and other professionals in the department. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with team members on projects, sharing ideas and insights, and contributing to the overall success of the department.
  6. Maintain confidentiality: As an intern in the Actuarial department, you will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information. It is essential that you maintain the confidentiality of this information at all times.
  7. Complete assigned tasks and projects: You will be responsible for completing assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines. This may include data entry, report preparation, or other ad-hoc projects assigned by the team.
  8. Take initiative: We are looking for an intern who is proactive and takes initiative. You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
