  1. Designing and developing mainframe applications using COBOL and CICS to support business operations.
  2. Collaborating with the IT team to identify and implement solutions for complex technical issues.
  3. Maintaining and troubleshooting existing mainframe applications to ensure maximum efficiency and functionality.
  4. Conducting thorough testing and debugging of mainframe applications to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  5. Providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members on mainframe development best practices.
  6. Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to mainframe development.
  7. Working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  8. Ensuring compliance with coding standards and company policies.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Cobol Programming Experience: A Mainframe Developer At Regions Financial Co. Must Have A Strong Background In Cobol Programming, As It Is The Primary Language Used For Mainframe Development At The Company.

  • Proficiency In Cics: Cics, Or Customer Information Control System, Is A Transaction Processing System Commonly Used In Mainframe Development. A Qualified Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Cics And Its Functions.

  • Familiarity With Mainframe Technologies: In Addition To Cobol And Cics, A Mainframe Developer At Regions Financial Co. Should Have Knowledge And Experience With Other Mainframe Technologies Such As Jcl, Vsam, And Db2.

  • Banking Or Financial Industry Experience: Regions Financial Co. Is A Financial Services Company, So Experience In The Banking Or Financial Industry Is Highly Desirable. This Allows The Developer To Understand The Specific Needs And Requirements Of The Company's Mainframe Systems.

  • Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: Mainframe Development Requires A Strong Analytical Mindset And The Ability To Troubleshoot And Solve Complex Problems. A Qualified Candidate Should Possess These Skills To Be Successful In This Role At Regions Financial Co.
