  1. Conduct thorough investigations of potential financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, and other criminal activities.
  2. Analyze complex financial data and transactional records to identify potential suspicious activity.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Compliance, Risk Management, and Legal, to ensure compliance with BSA/AML laws and regulations.
  4. Monitor customer accounts and transactions for any signs of suspicious activity, and take appropriate action when necessary.
  5. Stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to financial crimes.
  6. Prepare detailed reports and documentation of investigative findings for management and regulatory agencies.
  7. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement and regulatory agencies, regarding potential financial crimes.
  8. Utilize various tools and systems to identify and track potential financial crimes.
  9. Identify and escalate any potential risks or gaps in processes related to BSA/AML compliance.
  10. Conduct ongoing reviews and audits of internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations.
  11. Participate in training and education initiatives to increase awareness and understanding of financial crimes within the organization.
  12. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
  13. Collaborate with other financial crimes investigators and share best practices to continuously improve processes and identify new trends in financial crimes.
  14. Stay current on emerging trends and technologies related to financial crimes and make recommendations for process improvements.
  15. Maintain accurate and organized records of investigations and related documentation.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Financial Crimes And Bsa/Aml Regulations: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Financial Crimes, Including Fraud, Money Laundering, And Terrorism Financing. They Should Also Have A Thorough Knowledge Of Bsa/Aml Regulations And Compliance Requirements.

  • Experience In Financial Crimes Investigations: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Conducting Financial Crimes Investigations, Preferably In A Banking Or Financial Institution Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Investigative Techniques, Evidence Collection, And Report Writing.

  • Analytical Skills: A Successful Financial Crimes Bsa/Aml Investigator Should Have Strong Analytical Skills And The Ability To Review And Analyze Large Amounts Of Data To Identify Potential Suspicious Activity. They Should Also Have The Ability To Think Critically And Identify Patterns And Trends.

  • Communication And Collaboration: This Role Requires Frequent Interaction With Internal And External Stakeholders, Such As Law Enforcement, Regulatory Agencies, And Other Financial Institutions. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Effectively Relaying Information.

  • Certifications: Many Financial Institutions Require Their Financial Crimes Bsa/Aml Investigators To Hold Relevant Certifications, Such As Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (Cams), Certified Fraud Examiner (Cfe), Or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (Cfcs). Candidates With These Certifications Will Have A Competitive Edge In The Hiring Process.
