Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Red Hat. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our Azure Red Hat Openshift infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of our platform. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about automation and has a deep understanding of Azure and Red Hat Openshift.   1. Administer and maintain the Azure Red Hat Openshift infrastructure.
  2. Troubleshoot any issues or incidents that arise within the infrastructure.
  3. Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of the platform.
  4. Implement and maintain automated processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  5. Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Create and maintain documentation for system configuration and troubleshooting procedures.
  7. Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in Azure and Red Hat Openshift.
  8. Take ownership of critical incidents and drive them to resolution.
  9. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  10. Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.
  11. Identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  12. Mentor and train junior team members.
  13. Collaborate with vendors for support and issue resolution.
  14. Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for system reliability.
  15. Continuously improve and optimize the infrastructure to meet performance and cost targets.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Azure And Red Hat Openshift: A Strong Understanding Of Both Azure And Red Hat Openshift Is Essential For A Site Reliability Engineer In This Role. This Includes Experience With Deploying, Managing, And Troubleshooting Applications On These Platforms.

  • Experience In Automation: The Ability To Automate Processes And Tasks Is Crucial For A Site Reliability Engineer. This Includes Experience With Tools Such As Ansible, Puppet, Or Chef, As Well As Scripting Languages Like Python Or Bash.

  • Strong Understanding Of Devops Principles: A Site Reliability Engineer Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Devops Principles And Practices, Including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, And Infrastructure As Code. This Knowledge Is Necessary For Maintaining A Reliable And Efficient Software Delivery Pipeline.

  • Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Site Reliability Engineers Are Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Issues In A Timely Manner. This Requires Strong Troubleshooting Skills And The Ability To Think Critically To Solve Complex Problems.

  • Cloud Security Knowledge: Site Reliability Engineers Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Cloud Security Best Practices And Be Able To Implement Them In An Azure And Red Hat Openshift Environment. This Includes Knowledge Of Identity And Access Management, Network Security, And Data Encryption.
