
Material Program Manager

- Develop and implement material management strategies to support program objectives and ensure on-time delivery of materials to meet project timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to identify material needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to support production schedules and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Manage the procurement process for materials, including negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and tracking delivery timelines.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Monitor material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings through supplier negotiations and alternative sourcing.
- Work with finance and program management teams to develop and manage material budgets and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain material management metrics and reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to material management, including ITAR and export control.
- Oversee the handling and storage of materials to ensure proper handling, tracking, and disposal in accordance with company policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of material management professionals to ensure the effective execution of material management processes.
- Continuously evaluate and improve material management processes to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall program performance.
- Communicate regularly with program management and stakeholders to provide updates on material status, risks, and opportunities.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments related to material management and make recommendations for process improvements and best practices.
Bachelor's Degree In Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Material Program Management Role, Preferably In The Aerospace Or Defense Industry.
Strong Understanding Of Supply Chain Processes, Including Sourcing, Procurement, And Inventory Management.
Experience With Government Contracts And Regulations, Such As Federal Acquisition Regulations (Far) And Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (Dfars).
Excellent Communication And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Lead Cross-Functional Teams And Negotiate With Suppliers.
