Specimen Technician

Responsibilities:

1. Collect, label, and process medical specimens according to laboratory safety and quality control standards.
2. Accurately document and record patient information and laboratory results.
3. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
4. Analyze laboratory specimens and perform routine laboratory tests.
5. Follow laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure accuracy and timeliness of laboratory results.
6. Monitor laboratory equipment and perform troubleshooting as needed.
7. Assist in training and orienting new laboratory personnel.
8. Maintain current knowledge of medical laboratory standards and best practices.
9. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards for the medical laboratory.
10. Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained and HIPAA regulations are followed.
