In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess a current phlebotomy certification and have at least 3 years of phlebotomy experience.   1. Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients using proper techniques and following all safety protocols.
  2. Accurately label and process collected specimens, ensuring timely delivery to the laboratory for testing.
  3. Verify patient information and ensure proper documentation of all procedures.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazard materials.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
  7. Flexibly work in various locations and adapt to changing schedules and patient volumes.
  8. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  9. Collaborate with laboratory staff and other team members to ensure efficient and accurate processing of specimens.
  10. Continuously stay updated on best practices and new developments in the field of phlebotomy.
  11. Represent Quest Diagnostics in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  12. Mentor and train new phlebotomists as needed.
  13. Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  14. Handle any unexpected situations or emergencies with calm and prompt action.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Phlebotomist With Demonstrated Proficiency In Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Processing.

  • Current Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician (Pbt) From A Recognized Certifying Agency Such As Ascp Or Nha.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols, Including Proper Handling And Labeling Of Specimens.

  • Strong Customer Service Skills And The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Laboratory Staff.

  • Flexibility To Work A Variable Schedule, Including Weekends And Holidays, And The Ability To Travel To Multiple Locations Within A Designated Region.
