- Label and transport specimens to laboratory for testing.

Relevant Education And Certification: A Phlebotomist Ii At Quest Diagnostics Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Along With A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Prior Experience: At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting Is Required For This Role. This Should Include Proficiency In Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Handling Procedures.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: A Phlebotomist Ii Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols Related To Collecting, Handling, And Processing Various Types Of Specimens. This Includes Knowledge Of Safety And Infection Control Measures.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For A Phlebotomist Ii, As They Will Be Required To Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Laboratory Staff On A Daily Basis. They Must Also Be Able To Accurately Record And Relay Information Related To Specimen Collection And Handling.
