  1. Perform complex diagnostic tests and procedures on patient samples, utilizing cutting-edge technology and adhering to established laboratory standards and protocols.
  2. Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of test results, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and following quality control measures.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other laboratory staff to ensure proper sample collection, handling, and testing procedures.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during testing, utilizing critical thinking skills and knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  5. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, performing routine maintenance and calibrations as needed.
  6. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  7. Actively participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current with advancements in laboratory sciences and technology.
  8. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and concerns.
  10. Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field: A Candidate For A Medical Laboratory Scientist Position At Quest Diagnostics Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Laboratory Techniques And Procedures, As Well As An Understanding Of The Principles Of Laboratory Science.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls): Many Positions At Quest Diagnostics Require Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Through A Recognized Accrediting Agency, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Knowledge In The Field Of Medical Laboratory Science.

  • Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A High-Volume Laboratory. This Experience Helps The Candidate To Understand The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of A Laboratory, As Well As The Importance Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail In This Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: A Medical Laboratory Scientist At Quest Diagnostics Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including The Ability To Troubleshoot And Maintain Laboratory Instruments. This Knowledge Is Essential For Ensuring Accurate And Reliable Results.

  • Excellent Communication And Team Collaboration Skills: As A Medical Laboratory Scientist, One Must Work Closely With Other Members Of The Laboratory Team, Including Pathologists, Technologists, And Technicians.
