As a Windows Power and Performance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the performance and power management of our Windows-based devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance user experience and prolong battery life.   1. Conduct in-depth analysis of Windows OS power and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance user experience and prolong battery life.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to design and implement performance and power optimization strategies for Windows-based devices.
  3. Utilize various tools and techniques to measure and monitor system performance and power consumption, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  4. Stay updated on the latest advancements in Windows OS power and performance, and apply them to our devices to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve performance and power-related issues, working closely with the software and hardware teams to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  6. Develop and maintain performance and power testing frameworks and methodologies, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  7. Act as a subject matter expert on Windows power and performance, providing guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
  8. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline performance and power testing processes.
  9. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to optimize their software and hardware components for improved performance and power efficiency.
  10. Continuously monitor and evaluate the impact of new software and hardware updates on device performance and power consumption, making necessary adjustments and improvements.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Knowledge Of Windows Operating System: A Windows Power And Performance Engineer At Qualcomm Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Windows Operating System, Including Its Architecture, Components, And Performance Monitoring Tools.

  • Experience With Power Management Technologies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Power Management Technologies Such As Acpi, Ppm, And Intel Speedstep. Knowledge Of Power Management Features In Windows Is Also Desirable.

  • Understanding Of Computer Hardware: A Windows Power And Performance Engineer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Computer Hardware Components And Their Impact On System Performance. This Includes Knowledge Of Cpu, Memory, Storage, And Graphics.

  • Proficiency In Programming And Scripting: The Role Requires The Ability To Write Efficient Scripts And Programs To Automate Performance Tests And Analyze System Data. Proficiency In Languages Such As C++, Python, And Powershell Is Highly Desired.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Troubleshoot Performance Issues And Identify Areas For Optimization. Experience With Performance Monitoring And Analysis Tools Such As Windows Performance Analyzer Is A Plus.
