- Lead and mentor a team of thermal engineers to ensure high quality and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop innovative thermal solutions.
- Conduct thermal design and analysis, including simulations and modeling, to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in thermal engineering to continuously improve Qualcomm's products.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and customers, to provide updates on project progress.
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for thermal improvements.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions for thermal issues in existing products.
- Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices for thermal engineering.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for thermal performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new thermal materials and technologies.
- Monitor and analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and maintain documentation related to thermal design and analysis.
- Travel to customer sites or other Qualcomm locations as needed for project meetings or on-site support.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the thermal engineering team.
Advanced Degree In Mechanical Or Aerospace Engineering: A Principal Thermal Engineer At Qualcomm Should Possess An Advanced Degree In A Related Field, Such As Mechanical Or Aerospace Engineering, To Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Heat Transfer Principles.
Extensive Experience With Thermal Management Technologies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Thermal Engineering, With A Deep Understanding Of Thermal Management Technologies Such As Heat Sinks, Fans, And Thermoelectric Coolers.
Strong Proficiency In Thermal Modeling Software: A Principal Thermal Engineer Should Be Well-Versed In The Use Of Thermal Modeling Software Such As Ansys, Flotherm, Or Icepak, And Have Experience In Performing Simulations To Analyze Thermal Performance And Optimize Designs.
Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations: Qualcomm Is A Leading Technology Company, And The Principal Thermal Engineer Should Be Knowledgeable About Industry Standards And Regulations Related To Thermal Management, Such As Ashrae, Jedec, And Mil-Std.
Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Principal Engineer, This Role Will Involve Leading And Mentoring A Team Of Engineers, As Well As Managing Projects And Timelines.
