  1. Create and implement engaging and effective lesson plans for high school students in the Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math & Science program.
  2. Assess students' academic progress and provide individualized instruction to meet their needs.
  3. Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  4. Collaborate with program staff and other instructors to develop and implement program activities and events.
  5. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal growth.
  6. Communicate regularly with students and their families to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
  7. Utilize various teaching methods and techniques to meet the diverse learning styles of students.
  8. Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, grades, and progress towards program goals.
  9. Attend and actively participate in program meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  10. Stay updated on current research and trends in education to continuously improve teaching strategies and methods.
  11. Adhere to program policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
  12. Provide feedback and evaluations of students' academic progress to program staff for program reporting purposes.
  13. Participate in recruitment events and assist in the selection process for future program participants.
  14. Serve as a positive representative of the program and the university.
  15. Continuously reflect on and evaluate teaching practices to improve student outcomes and program effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Education, Mathematics, Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Teaching At The High School Or College Level.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of The Upward Bound And Upward Bound Math & Science Programs.

  • Ability To Create And Implement Engaging And Interactive Lesson Plans For Diverse Groups Of Students.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Students, Colleagues, And Program Staff.
