  1. Conduct independent research in the field of carbohydrate chemistry, with a focus on understanding their role in biological systems.
  2. Collaborate with other faculty members and researchers to contribute to ongoing research projects.
  3. Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and present findings at conferences and in scientific publications.
  4. Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in research activities.
  5. Participate in grant writing and securing funding for research projects.
  6. Stay up-to-date with current literature and advancements in the field of carbohydrate chemistry.
  7. Develop and maintain collaborations with other research institutions and industry partners.
  8. Assist in the organization and management of laboratory resources and equipment.

  10. Represent Purdue University and the department at conferences and other professional events.
  11. Adhere to ethical and safety guidelines in all research activities.

Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.d. In Chemistry, With A Specialization In Carbohydrate Chemistry, From An Accredited University.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Conducting Independent Research In Carbohydrate Chemistry, As Evidenced By Publications In High Impact Journals And/Or Successful Grant Funding.

  • Strong Knowledge And Expertise In Various Analytical Techniques Used In Carbohydrate Chemistry Research, Such As Nmr Spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry, And Chromatography.

  • Prior Teaching Experience At The Undergraduate And/Or Graduate Level In Carbohydrate Chemistry Or Related Fields.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Colleagues And Mentor Graduate And Undergraduate Students.
