  1. Conduct in-depth research on the intersection of religion and culture, specifically focusing on Japanese Christianity.
  2. Collaborate with other researchers and scholars to contribute to ongoing research projects.
  3. Utilize a variety of research methods and techniques to gather and analyze data.
  4. Stay current with relevant literature and developments in the field of Japanese Christianity.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant organizations and individuals in the field.
  6. Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and other academic events.
  7. Write and publish scholarly articles, papers, and books related to Japanese Christianity.
  8. Assist in organizing and coordinating research events and conferences.
  9. Mentor and supervise graduate students and interns in their research projects.
  10. Help develop and secure funding for future research projects.
  11. Contribute to the development of teaching materials and courses related to Japanese Christianity.
  12. Act as a representative of Purdue University and the research team at academic events and conferences.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records of research data and findings.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to expand and deepen knowledge in the field of Japanese Christianity.
  15. Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines in all research activities.

Job Qualifications
  • A Completed Doctoral Degree In Japanese Christianity Or A Related Field, Such As Religious Studies, History, Or Theology.

  • Demonstrated Proficiency In The Japanese Language, Including The Ability To Conduct Research And Communicate Effectively In Both Written And Spoken Forms.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of The History And Development Of Christianity In Japan, Including Understanding Of Key Theological And Cultural Influences.

  • Prior Experience Conducting Independent Research In The Field, Including Publications And Conference Presentations.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team Of Scholars, Students, And Community Members.
