  1. Teach and facilitate courses related to mental health nursing to undergraduate and graduate students.
  2. Develop and update course curriculum to ensure alignment with current nursing practices and standards.
  3. Create a supportive and engaging learning environment for students, fostering their intellectual and personal growth.
  4. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance and support for their academic and professional development.
  5. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning and promote critical thinking skills.
  6. Evaluate and provide feedback on student performance, including grading assignments, exams, and projects.
  7. Stay current with developments in the field of mental health nursing and incorporate new knowledge and research into teaching.
  8. Collaborate with other faculty members to promote interdisciplinary learning and integrate mental health concepts into other nursing courses.
  9. Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities to contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursing program.
  10. Serve as a resource and advocate for students, providing guidance and support for their academic and personal needs.
  11. Participate in recruitment and retention efforts for the nursing program, promoting the value and benefits of a career in mental health nursing.
  12. Contribute to the ongoing assessment and improvement of the mental health nursing program, including program evaluation and accreditation processes.
  13. Maintain professional licensure and certifications, as well as participate in professional organizations and activities related to mental health nursing.
  14. Uphold and promote the values and mission of Purdue University School of Nursing, fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
  15. Continuously strive for excellence in teaching, research, and service, and actively participate in the university's community and academic life.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Focus On Mental Health: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Mental Health. This Will Ensure The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In The Subject Matter And Is Well-Equipped To Teach And Mentor Students In This Field.

  • A Valid Nursing License In The State Of Maine: As An Adjunct Faculty Member In The School Of Nursing At Purdue University, The Candidate Must Have A Valid Nursing License In The State Of Maine. This Is Essential For Teaching And Practicing Nursing In The State And Ensuring Compliance With State Regulations.

  • Previous Teaching Experience In A Nursing Program: The Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Teaching In A Nursing Program, Preferably At The College Or University Level. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Teach And Engage With Students And Guide Them In Their Learning.

  • Clinical Experience In Mental Health Nursing: In Addition To Academic Qualifications, The Candidate Should Also Have Practical Experience In The Field Of Mental Health Nursing. This Will Provide A Valuable Perspective To Students And Enhance Their Learning Experience.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Adjunct Faculty Member, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Effectively Communicate With Students, Colleagues, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
