Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lecturer for our VIP (Vertically Integrated Projects) and EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) programs. As a Lecturer, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with students and faculty from various disciplines to facilitate collaborative, hands-on learning experiences.   1. Facilitate learning experiences: The lecturer will be responsible for designing and implementing collaborative, hands-on learning experiences for students in the VIP and EPICS programs.
  2. Teach engineering concepts: The lecturer will be responsible for teaching engineering concepts and principles to students from various disciplines, ensuring that they have a strong understanding of the subject matter.
  3. Mentor students: The lecturer will serve as a mentor to students, providing guidance and support as they work on their projects and develop their leadership skills.
  4. Collaborate with faculty: The lecturer will work closely with faculty from different departments to develop interdisciplinary projects and ensure the integration of engineering principles.
  5. Promote community impact: The lecturer will be responsible for promoting the importance of community impact and encouraging students to use their engineering skills to make a positive impact in their communities.
  6. Engage students in project-based learning: The lecturer will use innovative teaching methods to engage students in project-based learning, encouraging them to apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
  7. Foster a positive learning environment: The lecturer will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
  8. Stay updated with industry trends: The lecturer will be responsible for staying updated with industry trends and incorporating relevant developments into the curriculum.
  9. Evaluate student progress: The lecturer will assess student progress and provide feedback to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
  10. Participate in program development: The lecturer will actively participate in the development and enhancement of the VIP and EPICS programs to ensure their continued success.

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctoral Degree In A Related Field: A Lecturer - Vip/Epics At Purdue University Should Have A Minimum Of A Doctoral Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Engineering, Computer Science, Or Business.

  • Teaching Experience At The University Level: Candidates Should Have Experience Teaching At The University Level, Preferably With A Focus On Experiential Learning Or Service-Learning Methods.

  • Knowledge Of Vip/Epics Program: Familiarity With The Vip/Epics Program At Purdue University Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Program's Goals And Pedagogy.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Lecturer, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Effectively Communicate With Students, Colleagues, And Community Partners. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Success In This Role.
