As the Lead Event Planner, you will have the opportunity to plan and execute a wide range of events that showcase the vibrant and diverse community of Purdue. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, adept at multitasking, and has excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully planning and managing events, and a strong understanding of event logistics and budget management.   1. Plan and execute a variety of events that align with Purdue University's mission and showcase its vibrant community.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
  3. Create detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage all logistical aspects of events.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and organizations within Purdue to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated event experience.
  5. Lead a team of event staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support throughout the planning and execution process.
  6. Continuously assess and improve event processes and procedures to enhance the overall event experience.
  7. Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote events and increase attendance.
  8. Handle all event-related communications, including responding to inquiries and providing updates to stakeholders.
  9. Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses are within allocated funds.
  10. Conduct post-event evaluations and provide recommendations for future events.
  11. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in event planning and incorporate them into event strategies.
  12. Maintain accurate records and files related to events, including contracts, permits, and other important documents.
  13. Ensure compliance with all university policies and procedures throughout the event planning process.
  14. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may arise during the planning and execution of events.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing Purdue University at events and in interactions with stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Event Planning, Preferably In A University Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Event Planning Software, Such As Cvent Or Eventbrite, And Proficiency In Microsoft Office.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Team.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With A Diverse Range Of Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Staff, Students, And External Vendors.
