  1. Prepare tissue samples for research and teaching purposes using various histology techniques.
  2. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, tissue processors, and embedding centers.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
  4. Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and reproducibility of results.
  5. Collaborate with researchers and other laboratory staff to plan and execute experiments.
  6. Assist in the development and optimization of new histology techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures, results, and inventory.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  9. Trouble-shoot technical issues and communicate any problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  10. Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in the field of histology.
  11. Participate in training and mentoring new laboratory staff and students.
  12. Contribute to the writing of scientific papers and presentations based on laboratory findings.
  13. Attend and present at scientific conferences and workshops to share knowledge and expertise.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology, Biology, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory Setting.

  • Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Laboratory Equipment, Including Microscopes, Tissue Processors, And Cryostats.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Document And Record Data.
