
Graduate Assistant - Career Center

- Conduct Career Counseling: The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for providing career counseling services to students and alumni, helping them to identify their career goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
- Program Development: The Graduate Assistant will assist in the development and implementation of career development programs, workshops, and events for students and alumni.
- Event Planning: The Graduate Assistant will be involved in planning and executing career fairs, networking events, and other career-related events.
- Collaborate with Team: The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Career Center team to develop and implement strategies to improve services and resources for students and alumni.
- Provide Administrative Support: The Graduate Assistant will assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and managing the Career Center's social media presence.
- Conduct Research: The Graduate Assistant will conduct research on current job market trends, industries, and employers to help students and alumni make informed career decisions.
- Assist with Resume and Cover Letter Reviews: The Graduate Assistant will provide feedback and guidance to students and alumni on their resumes and cover letters to help them stand out to potential employers.
- Serve as a Liaison: The Graduate Assistant will serve as a liaison between the Career Center and various departments on campus, as well as external partners, to promote career development opportunities for students and alumni.
- Professional Development: The Graduate Assistant will have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities and training to enhance their skills and knowledge in career counseling and program development.
- Support a Positive and Inclusive Environment: The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all students and alumni visiting the Career Center.
A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Counseling, Education, Or Human Resources.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Students, Staff, And Faculty.
Experience With Career Development, Job Search Strategies, And/Or Resume And Cover Letter Writing.
Knowledge Of Career Resources And Trends In Various Industries, Including Familiarity With Job Search Platforms And Networking Techniques.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills.
