Job Description

If so, Purdue University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development in Posey County. As an Extension Educator, you will have the opportunity to work with local youth, families, and volunteers to create and implement engaging and educational programs that promote leadership, citizenship, and life skills.   1. Develop and implement engaging and educational programs for local youth, families, and volunteers in alignment with the 4-H Youth Development curriculum and goals.
  2. Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other partners to expand the reach and impact of youth development programs.
  3. Serve as a role model and mentor to youth participants, promoting leadership, citizenship, and life skills development.
  4. Provide guidance and support to volunteers, including training and resources, to ensure effective delivery and implementation of programs.
  5. Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to continuously improve and enhance the quality of programs.
  6. Stay up-to-date on latest trends and research in youth development and incorporate relevant information into program planning and delivery.
  7. Develop and manage program budgets, including seeking and securing funding opportunities to support program growth and sustainability.
  8. Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including parents, youth, volunteers, and community partners, to promote program opportunities and share success stories.
  9. Maintain accurate records and data on program participation, outcomes, and impact to report to Purdue University and other relevant entities.
  10. Represent Purdue University and the Extension program in a professional and positive manner at community events, meetings, and conferences.
  11. Attend regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in youth development and program management.
  12. Adhere to all Purdue University policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to youth safety and risk management.
  13. Collaborate with other Extension Educators and staff to share best practices and resources for program improvement and growth.
  14. Participate in local, regional, and state Extension meetings and events as needed.
  15. Continuously promote the value and impact of 4-H Youth Development programs and the Extension program as a whole within the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Education, Youth Development, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working With Youth, Preferably In The 4-H Program.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of 4-H Curriculum And Programs.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
