  1. Oversee all aspects of the veterinary nursing program at Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine.
  2. Develop and implement curriculum for veterinary nursing students.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff within the veterinary nursing program.
  4. Ensure that the program meets all accreditation and regulatory standards.
  5. Conduct research and contribute to the advancement of veterinary nursing.
  6. Teach courses and provide instruction to veterinary nursing students.
  7. Participate in the recruitment and retention of students for the program.
  8. Mentor and advise students, providing academic and professional guidance.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and organizations to enhance the program and its offerings.
  10. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in veterinary nursing.
  11. Maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations.
  12. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the program.
  13. Evaluate and assess student performance and provide feedback.
  14. Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  15. Represent the veterinary nursing program at university events and conferences.
  16. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  17. Ensure the safety and well-being of students and animals within the program.
  18. Manage program budget and resources effectively.
  19. Perform administrative duties as necessary.
  20. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the values and mission of Purdue University.

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree In Veterinary Medicine: A Director Of Veterinary Nursing / Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor At Purdue University Should Possess An Advanced Degree In Veterinary Medicine, Such As A Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine (Dvm) Or A Veterinary Medical Doctor (Vmd).

  • Licensure And Certification: The Candidate Should Have A Valid License To Practice Veterinary Medicine In The State Of Indiana. Additionally, Certification By The American Veterinary Medical Association (Avma) Or Other Relevant Professional Organizations Is Highly Desirable.

  • Teaching And Research Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Teaching Experience In A Veterinary Or Medical Education Program. Experience In Developing And Implementing Curriculum, As Well As Conducting Research In The Field Of Veterinary Medicine, Is Also Preferred.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: As A Director Of Veterinary Nursing / Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, The Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Oversee And Mentor Students, As Well As Manage The Administrative And Operational Aspects Of The Program.

  • Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Veterinary Medicine, Preferably In A Teaching Hospital Or Academic Setting. This Experience Should Include A Wide Range Of Species And A Variety Of Medical And Surgical Procedures.
