  1. Develop and implement a vision and strategic plan for the "All-American" Marching Band that aligns with the values and goals of Purdue University.
  2. Lead and direct all aspects of the marching band, including rehearsals, performances, recruitment, and budget management.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration, respect, and accountability among band members and staff.
  4. Serve as a role model and mentor for students, providing guidance and support for their musical and personal growth.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and organizations within the university to enhance the band's visibility and impact on campus.
  6. Ensure the band's repertoire is diverse, creative, and reflective of the university's culture and traditions.
  7. Plan and execute high-quality performances at university events, sporting events, and other community engagements.
  8. Oversee the selection and training of student leaders, providing opportunities for them to develop their leadership skills.
  9. Manage and maintain the band's instruments, equipment, and uniforms to ensure they are in excellent condition.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve the band's operations, seeking feedback from students, staff, and stakeholders to enhance the overall experience for all involved.
  11. Represent the band and the university in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  12. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in marching band and music education to continually enhance the band's performance and reputation.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Directing And Coordinating Marching Band Performances At A Collegiate Or Professional Level.

  • Proven Ability To Develop And Implement Innovative And Engaging Marching Band Shows, Incorporating A Variety Of Musical Styles And Formations.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Large Group Of Musicians.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Music Theory, Marching Techniques, And Instrument-Specific Techniques.

  • A Passion For Promoting School Spirit And Representing Purdue University Through High-Quality Performances At Athletic Events, Parades, And Other Campus And Community Events.
