  1. Lead and oversee all aspects of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) department at Purdue University.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans for the department to enhance its reputation and impact in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
  3. Provide visionary and innovative leadership to faculty, staff, and students.
  4. Foster a positive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure excellence in teaching, research, and service.
  6. Maintain and enhance partnerships with other departments, institutions, and organizations to advance the goals of the SLHS department.
  7. Oversee the curriculum and ensure the quality of teaching and learning experiences for students.
  8. Engage in research and scholarly activities to advance the knowledge and understanding in the field of SLHS.
  9. Secure external funding to support research and development projects.
  10. Promote the department's programs and initiatives through effective communication and marketing strategies.
  11. Participate in community outreach and service activities to promote the department's mission and goals.
  12. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as accreditation standards.
  13. Represent the department at university-wide events and meetings.
  14. Stay current with developments and trends in SLHS and higher education.
  15. Serve as a role model and mentor to students, faculty, and staff.
  16. Uphold the values and mission of Purdue University in all professional activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree In Communication Sciences And Disorders Or A Related Field, With A Strong Emphasis On Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Teaching And Research In The Field Of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences.

  • Proven Record Of Securing External Funding For Research Projects.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills, Including Experience In Managing A Department Or Program.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Faculty, Staff, And Students.
