  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and confidentiality of all research activities at Purdue University.
  2. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the research security department, including monitoring compliance and identifying potential risks.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that all research activities are conducted in a secure and ethical manner.
  4. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address any security vulnerabilities.
  5. Train and educate faculty, staff, and students on research security protocols and best practices.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations related to research security and make recommendations for updates or improvements to current practices.
  7. Serve as a point of contact for any security incidents or breaches and coordinate appropriate responses.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to stay informed of current security measures and collaborate on research security initiatives.
  9. Develop and maintain a secure system for storing and accessing sensitive research data.
  10. Act as a resource and provide guidance to researchers on security protocols and procedures.
  11. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations related to research security.
  12. Prepare and present reports on research security to university leadership and regulatory agencies as needed.
  13. Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance among all members of the university community.
  14. Identify and implement strategies to continuously improve research security measures at Purdue University.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Computer Science, Information Technology, Or Cybersecurity.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Research Security Or A Related Field, With A Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing Security Programs.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Compliance Requirements Related To Research Security, Including But Not Limited To Hipaa, Ferpa, And Export Control Laws.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Security Professionals, As Well As The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Across The University.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Security Concepts To A Non-Technical Audience And Build Relationships With External Partners And Vendors.
