Job Description

Welcome to PruittHealth, a leading provider of long-term care and rehabilitation services. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Director - Registered Nurse to join our team. As the MDS Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of care for our residents by overseeing the completion and accuracy of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing exceptional care to our residents.   1. Oversee the completion and accuracy of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for residents.
  2. Monitor and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to MDS assessments.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather and review resident information for accurate MDS completion.
  4. Train and educate staff on proper MDS coding and documentation procedures.
  5. Conduct thorough audits to identify any errors or discrepancies in MDS assessments and work to correct them.
  6. Stay up-to-date on changes to MDS regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  7. Serve as a resource for staff and provide guidance on MDS-related issues.
  8. Communicate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide recommendations for enhancing resident care.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  11. Ensure resident care plans accurately reflect MDS assessments and work with the care team to make necessary adjustments.
  12. Collaborate with billing department to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided based on MDS assessments.
  13. Conduct regular meetings with the interdisciplinary team to discuss MDS-related issues and provide updates.
  14. Maintain accurate and organized records of MDS assessments and related documentation.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of PruittHealth by providing compassionate and exceptional care to residents.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In Good Standing With The State Board Of Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Long-Term Care Or Post-Acute Care Settings.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of The Mds (Minimum Data Set) Process And Its Impact On Reimbursement And Quality Of Care.

  • Prior Experience In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Coordinate With Other Departments.

  • Proficiency In Computer Skills, Including Experience With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) And Mds Software Systems.
