Job Description

At PruittHealth, we are looking for an experienced and compassionate Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. As an integral part of the hospice team, the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive program for recruiting and supporting volunteers who are willing to serve patients and their families in their time of need.The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field, as well as at least three years of experience in hospice or volunteer coordination. This individual must have excellent communication skills, be organized, and be able to think critically and analytically. Responsibilities of the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

  1. Develop and manage a comprehensive program for recruiting and supporting hospice volunteers.
  2. Maintain and coordinate volunteer schedules.
  3. Communicate regularly with volunteers and provide support as needed.
  4. Ensure volunteers are informed of current regulations and guidelines related to hospice care.
  5. Evaluate effectiveness of volunteer programs and make necessary adjustments.
  6. Provide training and orientation to new volunteers.
  7. Monitor volunteer activities and provide feedback.
  8. Keep accurate records of volunteer activity and provide timely reports.
  9. Participate in team meetings and provide input on volunteer programs.
  10. Act as a liaison between volunteers and hospice staff.
