Job Description

As a Dietary Manager at PruittHealth, you will play a vital role in providing quality nutrition services to our patients and residents. With a passion for food and nutrition, you will oversee the dietary department and ensure that all meals are prepared and served according to dietary guidelines and regulatory standards.   1. Oversee and manage the dietary department, including hiring, training, and scheduling dietary staff.
  2. Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with dietary guidelines and regulations.
  3. Create and maintain a menu that meets the nutritional needs and preferences of patients and residents.
  4. Monitor food inventory and ordering to ensure adequate supply and cost control.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare team to develop individualized dietary plans for patients with specific dietary needs or restrictions.
  6. Maintain updated knowledge of dietary regulations and guidelines, and ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements.
  7. Conduct regular audits of the dietary department to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  8. Implement and maintain sanitation and safety protocols in the kitchen and dining areas.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with food vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of food items.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, residents, and their families regarding dietary needs and concerns.
  11. Monitor and manage the department budget, including food and labor costs.
  12. Address and resolve any customer service issues related to food or dining experience.
  13. Train and educate staff on proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  14. Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in nutrition and foodservice management.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the dietary department.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Dietary Manager (Cdm) From The Association Of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (Anfp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role In A Healthcare Or Long-Term Care Setting.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Food Service And Sanitation.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Train And Manage A Team Of Dietary Staff.

  • Proficiency In Menu Planning, Food Purchasing, And Budget Management To Ensure Quality And Cost-Effective Meal Service For Residents.
