- Develop and implement a variety of engaging activities and events for residents, taking into consideration their interests, abilities, and needs.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents to socialize and interact with one another.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure activities are well-planned and executed.
- Maintain a calendar of events and communicate it to residents and their families.
- Manage and maintain the activities budget, ensuring all expenses are within budget and approved.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of volunteers to assist with activities.
- Regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make necessary adjustments to meet resident needs and preferences.
- Develop positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to understand their needs and concerns.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and address any safety concerns.
- Keep accurate records of resident participation in activities and report any changes or concerns to appropriate staff members.
- Stay updated on current trends and research in senior activities and implement new ideas to enhance the program.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents to participate in activities and maintain a positive attitude.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Experience In Senior Living: A Qualified Activities Director At Pruitthealth Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Senior Living Community, Preferably In An Assisted Living Setting. This Will Ensure That They Have A Good Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Interests Of Elderly Residents.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Activities Director, It Is Important To Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Engage With Residents, Their Families, And Other Staff Members. This Requires Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Build Relationships And Create A Positive And Inclusive Environment.
Creativity And Adaptability: The Role Of An Activities Director Is To Plan And Organize A Variety Of Activities And Events For Residents. This Requires A Creative And Adaptable Approach To Ensure That Activities Are Engaging, Diverse, And Cater To The Interests And Abilities Of All Residents.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Activities Director Should Have A Good Understanding Of The Regulatory Requirements For Assisted Living Facilities, Particularly In Regards To Activities And Programming For Residents. This Will Ensure That All Activities Are In Compliance With State And Federal Regulations.
Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills: With A Busy Calendar Of Events And Activities, The Activities Director Must Have Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills. This Will Enable Them To Effectively Plan And Coordinate Activities, While Also Managing Administrative Tasks Such As Budgeting, Scheduling, And Record-Keeping.
