Job Description

Welcome to PruittHealth! We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Activities Director. As an Activities Director, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents by creating engaging and enriching activities. We are looking for someone who is dedicated, creative, and has a strong desire to enhance the quality of life for our residents. If you have a background in recreational therapy, social work, or a related field, and possess strong leadership and organizational skills, we would love to hear from you.   1. Develop and implement a wide range of activities and programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents.
  2. Collaborate with other staff members to plan and execute engaging and diverse activities for residents of varying abilities and interests.
  3. Create and maintain a schedule for activities, ensuring a balance of individual and group activities, as well as incorporating both physical and cognitive exercises.
  4. Actively engage with residents during activities, providing encouragement, support, and assistance as needed.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of resident participation in activities.
  6. Work closely with residents, families, and staff to gather feedback and suggestions for future activities.
  7. Manage a budget for activities and ensure all necessary supplies and materials are available for planned activities.
  8. Train and supervise a team of activity assistants to assist with the execution of activities.
  9. Ensure all activities comply with the regulations and guidelines set forth by state and federal agencies.
  10. Stay up-to-date on new trends and best practices in the field of recreational therapy and incorporate them into activities and programs.
  11. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for residents, promoting a sense of community and social connection.
  12. Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as required by the facility.
  13. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of residents during activities.
  14. Represent the facility in a professional and positive manner at all times, promoting the mission and values of PruittHealth.
  15. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of activities, making necessary adjustments to improve resident satisfaction and engagement.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Long-Term Care Facility.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Plan And Lead Activities For Residents.

  • Knowledge Of Local Community Resources And Ability To Coordinate Off-Site Outings And Events.

  • Cpr And First Aid Certification, As Well As Any Other Necessary Training Or Licensure Required By State Regulations.
