  1. Provide professional interpretation services for patients and healthcare providers in a healthcare setting.
  2. Communicate clearly and accurately in both English and Spanish, maintaining the integrity and tone of the original message.
  3. Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret medical discussions and procedures.
  4. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
  6. Act as a cultural bridge between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring cultural sensitivity and understanding.
  7. Remain up-to-date on healthcare policies, procedures, and industry changes to provide accurate and relevant interpretation.
  8. Collaborate with other interpreters and team members to ensure consistency and quality of interpretation services.
  9. Handle sensitive and emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
  10. Adhere to the code of ethics and standards set by the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) and other relevant organizations.
  11. Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement to enhance the overall quality of interpretation services.
  12. Attend training and development sessions to continuously improve and enhance interpreting skills.
  13. Keep accurate records of interpretation sessions and maintain a log of interpreted encounters.
  14. Assist with administrative tasks related to interpretation services, such as scheduling and coordinating appointments.
  15. Adhere to the organization's mission, vision, and values while representing the organization in a positive and professional manner.
