- Manage and maintain the visual resource archives for Providence St. Joseph Health.
- Develop and implement best practices for organizing, cataloging, and preserving visual materials in both physical and digital formats.
- Conduct regular audits of the visual resource archives to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to identify and acquire relevant visual materials for the archives.
- Create and maintain detailed records and metadata for all visual resources, including photographs, videos, and other visual assets.
- Digitize, edit, and enhance visual materials as needed to ensure high-quality preservation and accessibility.
- Ensure compliance with copyright and usage rights for all visual resources.
- Train and supervise junior archivists and assistants in proper archiving procedures and techniques.
- Conduct research and provide information and assistance to internal and external stakeholders seeking access to visual resources.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in archiving and preservation techniques, and implement new strategies and technologies as appropriate.
- Maintain the physical and digital organization of the visual resource archives to ensure efficient retrieval and use of materials.
- Manage and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors for specialized services related to visual resource preservation and management.
- Collaborate with other archivists and departments to curate and create exhibits and displays featuring visual resources.
- Participate in outreach and educational initiatives to promote the importance of visual resource preservation and accessibility.
- Uphold the organization's values and mission in all aspects of the role, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Advanced Knowledge Of Archival Principles And Practices: A Senior Archivist - Visual Resources *Hybrid* At Providence St. Joseph Health Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Archival Principles And Practices, Including Digital Preservation, Cataloging And Metadata Standards, And Information Management.
Extensive Experience With Visual Resources Management: This Role Requires A Deep Understanding Of Managing Visual Resources, Such As Photographs, Videos, And Other Digital Assets. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Organizing, Digitizing, And Preserving Visual Materials.
Proficiency In Digital Asset Management Systems: To Effectively Manage The Organization's Visual Resources, A Senior Archivist Should Be Proficient In Using Digital Asset Management Systems, Such As Resourcespace, Dspace, Or Adobe Experience Manager.
Strong Research And Analytical Skills: As A Senior Archivist, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Researching And Analyzing Visual Materials, Identifying Their Historical And Cultural Significance, And Ensuring Their Accuracy And Authenticity.
