- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, specifically focusing on epilepsy care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts to create individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patient's condition, including changes in neurological status, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, following infection control and safety protocols.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, using appropriate and culturally sensitive communication techniques.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on best practices and advancements in neuroscience and epilepsy care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and a seamless patient experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Bls And Acls Certification.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of Employment.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Nursing Experience With A Focus On Neuroscience And/Or Epilepsy Care.
Advanced Certification In Neuroscience Or Epilepsy Nursing (E.g. Cnrn, Ccrn, Scrn).
