Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling all procedural appointments and ensuring efficient use of resources.   1. Coordinate and schedule all procedural appointments for patients, including but not limited to surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures.
  2. Ensure efficient use of resources by accurately scheduling procedures based on availability of equipment, staff, and other necessary resources.
  3. Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to gather necessary information and ensure all scheduling details are correct.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules for all procedures, including any changes or cancellations.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth and timely patient flow through the scheduling process.
  6. Provide excellent customer service by addressing any scheduling conflicts or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
  8. Monitor and maintain waitlists for procedures, ensuring that all patients are scheduled in a timely manner.
  9. Utilize electronic scheduling systems and other software to maintain accurate records and schedules.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards, to ensure patient safety and privacy.
  11. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on scheduling processes and procedures.
  12. Continuously identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for streamlining processes and increasing efficiency.
  13. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  14. Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate and timely billing of procedures.
  15. Provide support to other team members as needed and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Scheduling Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures.

  • Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills.

  • Proficiency In Scheduling Software And Electronic Medical Records Systems.
