
Physician Assistant Oncology

- Conduct thorough assessments of cancer patients and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician and multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor and manage patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Administer chemotherapy, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects.
- Conduct physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and make appropriate referrals.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, and nutritionists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Stay current with advancements and developments in oncology treatment and incorporate into practice.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain a compassionate and supportive approach to patient care, recognizing the sensitive nature of working with cancer patients.
- Act as a patient advocate and facilitate communication between patients and their healthcare team.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Attend continuing education courses and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for patients and staff.
Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program
Current Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa)
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Oncology Or A Related Field
Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Cancer Patients
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Collaborating With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team And Providing Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families.
