- Collect and prepare blood samples from patients for laboratory testing.
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Use proper techniques and procedures to ensure accurate and safe collection of blood samples.
- Label and process collected samples accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized phlebotomy area, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and stocked.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure smooth patient care.
- Keep accurate records of patient information and test results.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
- Continuously update and maintain knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care to patients.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings to stay current on policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate test results.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program And Current Certification By A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt).
At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Effectively With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds.
Strong Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Techniques, Safety Procedures, And Medical Terminology.
Ability To Multitask And Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
