Job Description

At Providence St. Joseph Health, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and service to our patients. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Service Representative. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our patients and their families, and play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and welcoming experience. As a Patient Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while utilizing your exceptional communication and organizational skills.   1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  2. Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
  3. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing accurate and timely information to patients and their families.
  4. Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar, ensuring efficient and effective use of time.
  5. Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary payments, following established protocols and procedures.
  6. Maintain patient records and files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure seamless patient care and service.
  8. Address and resolve patient concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction by actively seeking feedback and implementing suggestions.
  10. Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to the job.
  11. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  13. Keep abreast of industry updates and changes in healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.
  14. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by actively participating in team meetings and activities.
  15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors and managers.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Service Representative Must Have Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role. This Includes The Ability To Remain Calm And Professional Under Pressure, Handle Difficult Situations With Empathy, And Provide Exceptional Customer Service At All Times.

  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency In Computer Applications Such As Electronic Health Records, Scheduling Systems, And Microsoft Office Is Essential For A Patient Service Representative. This Includes The Ability To Accurately Enter And Retrieve Information, Navigate Multiple Systems, And Troubleshoot Technical Issues.
