- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to cardiac patients under the direction and supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare team members.
- Assist with the daily activities and needs of patients, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Help patients with mobility and transferring, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and assist with treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment, ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns.
- Participate in educational and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure quality patient care and safety.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.
Certification: A Patient Care Technician At Providence St. Joseph Health Must Hold A Current Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Emergency Medical Technician (Emt).
Experience: Applicants Must Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Cardiac Progressive Care Unit.
Knowledge Of Cardiac Care: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Conditions And Treatments, As Well As Experience With Cardiac Monitoring And Medication Administration.
Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Necessary For A Patient Care Technician In Order To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Team Player: The Ability To Work Well As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Be Able To Collaborate With Nurses, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Providers To Provide The Best Possible Care For Patients.
