
Patient Admissions Coordinator - On Call Variable
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Patient Admissions Coordinator at Providence St. Joseph Health. - Serve as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Facilitate the admissions process for patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork and information is obtained and accurately entered into the system.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather necessary information and answer any questions or concerns.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients and families on hospital policies and procedures, including financial responsibilities and privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and finance, to ensure a smooth and timely admissions process.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any patient concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay current on all medical terminology, insurance requirements, and hospital policies to accurately assist patients.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating transportation for patients as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on hospital procedures and protocols.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the patient experience.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Providence St. Joseph Health in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Patient Admissions Or Registration.
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Policies, And Billing Procedures.
Ability To Work Variable Shifts Including Nights, Weekends, And Holidays, As Well As Being On Call For Unexpected Staffing Needs.
