Medical Degree: A Palliative Care Physician At Providence St. Joseph Health Must Hold A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Hospice And Palliative Medicine By The American Board Of Medical Specialties Or The American Osteopathic Association.
Specialized Training: The Ideal Candidate Will Have Completed A Fellowship In Hospice And Palliative Medicine Or Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In A Palliative Care Setting.
Compassionate And Empathetic Nature: Palliative Care Physicians Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families During End-Of-Life Situations.
Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Candidates Must Have Experience Working Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams Including Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplains, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide Comprehensive Care To Patients.
