
Medical Assistant - Swedish Gastroenterology

- Greet and welcome patients to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist patients with check-in process, including verifying insurance and collecting necessary information.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Assist physicians with medical procedures, such as administering injections and performing EKGs.
- Prepare and process lab specimens.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and tests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Handle phone calls and inquiries from patients and other healthcare facilities.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on medical procedures and practices.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
- Display empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
- Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care.

Completion Of A Medical Assistant Program: Candidates For This Position Should Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Program, Either Through A Vocational School Or Community College.
Certification: Possession Of A Current Medical Assistant Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt), Is Required.
Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential In This Role. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills.
Knowledge Of Gastroenterology Procedures: Previous Experience Or Knowledge Of Gastroenterology Procedures And Terminology Is Preferred For This Role. This Includes Understanding Of Procedures Such As Colonoscopies, Endoscopies, And Other Diagnostic Tests.
Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Role Of A Medical Assistant In A Gastroenterology Setting Can Be Fast-Paced, With Multiple Patients And Procedures To Assist With. Candidates Should Be Able To Handle A High Volume Of Tasks While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
