
EEG Technician - Sleep Laboratory

- Conducting EEG tests: Perform and record EEG tests on patients to help diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
- Operate EEG equipment: Set up and operate EEG equipment to record brain waves during sleep studies.
- Analyze results: Analyze and interpret EEG results to identify abnormalities and assist in diagnosing sleep disorders.
- Maintain records: Keep accurate and organized records of EEG tests and results for each patient.
- Prep patients: Prepare patients for EEG tests by explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment: Troubleshoot any technical issues with EEG equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.
- Collaborate with team: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Educate patients: Educate patients on the EEG procedure and answer any questions they may have.

Certification As An Eeg Technician: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Certification Or Licensure As An Eeg Technician From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).
Experience In Sleep Laboratory: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Sleep Laboratory Setting, Performing Sleep Studies And Eeg Tests. Experience With A Variety Of Equipment And Technology Used In Sleep Studies Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Neurophysiology: A Strong Understanding Of Neurophysiology And The Ability To Interpret Eeg And Sleep Study Results Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Brain And Sleep Cycles.
Attention To Detail: As An Eeg Technician In A Sleep Laboratory, Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Crucial. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Observational And Analytical Skills To Accurately Record And Analyze Eeg And Sleep Study Data.
Strong Communication Skills: This Role Involves Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
