- Accurately and timely code medical services, procedures, and diagnoses in accordance with current coding guidelines and regulations
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure appropriate coding and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure accuracy of coding
- Stay up-to-date on coding guidelines, regulations, and industry changes to maintain proficiency in coding practices
- Communicate and educate healthcare providers and staff on coding and documentation best practices
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Participate in coding audits and provide feedback for improvement as needed
- Work closely with billing and reimbursement teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of coded services
- Utilize electronic health records and coding software to accurately code and document medical services
- Attend trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance coding skills and knowledge
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, supporting the mission and values of the organization.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Health Informatics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Coding In A Medical Setting, Preferably In A Large Healthcare Organization.
Proficiency In Medical Coding Systems Such As Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs.
Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy.
Certification As A Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Preferred.
