- Provide specialized perinatal care to mothers and babies during the perinatal period.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify individualized care needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients based on their unique needs.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated and holistic care to patients.
- Educate patients and families on perinatal health and wellness, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Serve as a clinical resource for other healthcare professionals and staff.
- Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and best practices in perinatal care.
- Advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and protocols, as well as state and federal regulations.

Master's Degree In Nursing With A Focus On Perinatal Care: The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Perinatal Position At Providence St. Joseph Health Requires A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing, With A Specialization In Perinatal Care. This Advanced Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Excel In This Role.
Certification As A Clinical Nurse Specialist: Candidates For This Position Should Hold A Valid Clinical Nurse Specialist (Cns) Certification From A Recognized Certifying Body.
