- Provide specialized psychological services to individuals seeking weight loss treatment.
- Collaborate with the bariatric surgery team to support patients in achieving long-term weight loss success.
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions to help patients overcome barriers to weight loss.
- Monitor patients' progress and make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients on the psychological factors impacting weight loss and provide strategies for managing these factors.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Build rapport and establish a therapeutic relationship with patients to create a supportive and trusting environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and developments in the field of bariatrics and weight loss management.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Attend team meetings and participate in case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Provide support and guidance to patients' families and caregivers as needed.
- Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide additional support for patients.
- Act as an advocate for patients' mental health and overall well-being.
Doctoral Degree In Clinical Psychology Or Related Field With Specialized Training In Bariatrics Or Weight Loss Counseling.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working As A Psychologist In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably With A Focus On Bariatrics Or Weight Loss.
Current State Licensure As A Psychologist And Ability To Maintain Licensure Throughout Employment.
Experience Conducting Individual And Group Therapy Sessions, As Well As Designing And Implementing Behavioral Interventions For Weight Management.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Bariatric Surgery Procedures, Pre- And Post-Operative Care, And The Psychological Impacts Of Weight Loss Surgery On Patients.
